The drakes of the species are looking rather spiffy this time of year. Here is one that was proudly sporting its perfect coif for the ladies.
Canon 7DII + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC III, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/6.3, ISO 1600, natural light, handheld, FF, deepened the dark fine lines on the flanks, a few badly placed specks removed via spot removal tool. Subject attracted closer with sunflower seeds.
Love these ducks and your image is beautiful. Colors, sharp details (especially water droplets on his head!), perspective and background are all excellent. They are very skittish in our area - didn't know they liked sunflower seeds. Usually the mallards boss the woodies around here.
Stunning bird in its almost military looking br plumage. Liking the POV and processing a lot. Sunflower seeds eh, interesting (and better for them than bread )
Daniel like the POV and great job with nailing the exposure and getting the colors. Not sure there is a harder bird in the world to pull all the different shades of colors out on.
