Loved the expression and body language from this little elephant so I processed this frame best I could. The heavy crop( almost 50%) has affected the image quality to some extent but I still feel it is worth sharing, if only to make you smile.
Image was captured recently during a trip to Kruger Park. Must say the light conditions weren't great. My companion and I were watching this herd crossing the road and I barely decided to put the camera down when I noticed this tiny chap trying to keep up with his mom. He was was so cute, could not resist taking a frame or two.
Techs to follow:
Nikon D5
Nikon 500 F4
ISO 2000
F5.6
1/3 EV
1/2000s
Thank you so much for your time to view and comments on my previous images, I truly appreciate it. Suggestions and RP's welcome
Gabriela I think there would be few people who could have resisted taking this image! The IQ doesn't look bad but I agree it is not the best. The only thing that really detracts from my POV is the road surface......yes it did make me smile!
Hi Gabriela, it's been a long time coming, but this is a corker of an image and up there with the Perter Delaney images.
Love the way the baby eye is framed by the adult, plus there is 'scale' in the capture and in this instance the road isn't an issue for me, as tonally it blends in. Keeping more colour in the baby and going almost mono for the rest might be an option, likewise making a simple tweak just drawing the viewers eye in. It's a super image, you should be well pleased with this.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Hi Gabriela -- one of the finbest ele images that i have seen recently anywhere and also on this forum. Loved the framing and mood abt it. The tarmac is not a problem at all , infact it compliments the image nicely .
Hi Gabriela, this is so good. To find, see, frame and photograph the little one underneath, superb. The post processing is to die for. I totally enjoyed the image, thank you for sharing.

Many thanks for your kind words dear Steve, Haseeb and Joe
I had this kind of image - or rather scene - in mind for some time, but it never materialised either because of branches, tall grass, or something else that got in the way. Still hope to get the perfect frame one day.
Really appreciate your thoughts and suggestions, and Steve, I will try process this image in various ways to see what works best
Hi Gabriela ... fully understand your excitement when the option is there to witness or photograph the youngsters .
The overall is image looking very good with the kid jumping out of the frame and being sheltered at the same time by the adults .... very nicely captured and processed .
Sadly the road is killing the overall feel for me .... but still an enjoyable image .

Thank you Andreas,
I understand what you mean about the man made road... but do you think a B/W conversion would solve the issue? Here's a tiny sample Don't worry about IQ it's a huge crop.
Love the overall framing and low POV here Gabriela, a great story teller yes the tarmac isn't ideal, but then again the shot wasn't possible without it.
