Hi folks another Bear .....
This Male Bear was on the move, to chase fish in the shallow parts of the Kuril Lake just where a river enter the lake . He was one of the two males that dominated that location , the rest have been younger bears and mothers with cubs from time to time.
Funny fact was that the males has been low in numbers at the lake and high in numbers at the Kambalnaya River , the second location that i visited during that trip .
Due to the relatively high water level ,the fishing was not that easy for the bears .
Canon EOS 1Dx II
EF 500 IS L II

F 5,6 ; Iso 2500 ; 1/2500 sec ; man Exp ; Auto Iso
Processed with C1 and PSCC 2018 ; cropped and leveled ; with for more room on LHS .....sadly i do not have more . Many times i was struggling with keeping the running bears away from the frame edge ....my fault . Just not experienced enough when the fast action was going on.
Thanks for looking and commenting to my previous thread
Auto ISO eh - good man
He certainly looks as though he's on a mission, I am pretty impressed with the detail and colours of the fur - especially on the ears, neck back and shoulders.
This must have been quite an experience Did you take other lenses with you, or just the 500?
Techs look good and frame is well exposed, you could have gone for a tad more DoF here but I guess you needed that SS to "freeze" the action. Love the pose and concentration from the subject. Framing not too tight for me. Both colour and tonality look great, nice detail where it matters.
What a frame filler, your bear! A creature of vast strength and I am sure he aroused in you a great deal of awe and respect. I am certain the landscape was superb too, so I hope to see more from this trip, Boetie. This was a real treat for me tonight, thank you so much for sharing
Hi Andreas - This one works quite well. Love the feeling of movement and the visible eye too. Excellent detail. Only thing I would do is back off on the sharpening of the splash. Well done.
HI Andreas -- This is an absolute stunner. Loved the intent expression and the details here. The low POV works quite well , making the viewer all hooked into the image. Superbly done. TFS !
