Hi Brian ... stunning work !!!!
Works very well for me ....
I might give the water splash a tiny bit more sharpness as it falls off compared to the subject , should be same IMHO as it is lying in the same focal plane . If my eyes are correct I do see a very slight tilting clock wise .... easy fix . And if you like maybe opening up the blacks a tiny bit .

BTW ... how come that you moved to the better side ??? Was meant funny , others should take this not too serious !!!!
Hey Brian, looks pretty darn good. I don't see anything to improve. A thought, my first impression was the the black on the bird was slightly brown but maybe that's the color in Colorado. Here they are very black. Thank you for sharing.

I would say "You're killing it with the new rig" but truth be told you were clearly already killing it with your old one. Glad to see you are enjoying and sharing... TFS
ps
Love the water action and the wing down close to the water. You can feel the force it takes to go from water surface to the air...
Stop posting these killer Canon shots!
Perfect pose, love the trailing splash and the wing pose. The OOF top third fits in lovely with the frame as well

The low POV is the ace up your sleeve here Brian! I think you could loose some off the top, and going 16 x 9, using the same width working up from the BRHC.

Love how the wing tips curl up. Nice low angle. The splash out the water is nice as well.
Low angle and Duck pose is really nice.. I would blend a lot of the highlights in the BG above.
If the splash was as good as the duck, it would be over the top.
I am surprised the water is not sharp frozen.

Awesomeness. Even the BG along the top sparkles. The burst of water adding some cool blues to otherwise warm colours is pretty neat. If anything, I'm with Andreas wioth rotation - it probably needs no more than .5 degrees CCW, but it's there, thanks to those guiding straight lines across the water. I'm jealous of this one...no wait that's not good, I'm thankful someone was able to create this picture even if it was not me.
This is some really sweet action, and I think Steve's suggestion of 16x10 (or even 16x9) would look fantastic. I'd keep the crop generally loose though, as you've done here. Agree with a bit of CCW rotation.
It's so good to see these results with the R5. When and if I ever finish my book, I think I it might be my gift to myself. It sounds/looks like the AF is a significant upgrade from the DX2 (which Is what I have now)
Gorgeous shot Brian...it all works for me as is. Enough said
Andreas, been a long time. Nice to hear from you!
It was taught to me never to sharpen the water, but here I definitely see an application for it. Great suggestion!
As far as Canon... yeah man, it felt like the right move for me. Glad to be in the mirrorless world, that's for sure :-D
Joe, many thanks for the kind words.
You know, I never thought about the color. There are about 6 shots kept in this series and the raw files in each one look the same so I'd say it's definitely not something in the file or in work flow that I can tell.
David, gracious comments as always. I'm humbled you would say so but yeah, 20 fps and a large canvas of megapixels are fun :-)
Mike, thanks so much. Glad you think they're worthy my friend!
Steve, yeah low down and dirty on this one.
Oh, and this one is already 16x9 ;-)
John, thanks as always for commenting!
To each their own Dan. I loved the upper third of the canvas, and appears some others do too [shrug]
Daniel, wow man. Humbling words there...
Interestingly, I looked again and not sure why it wasn't rotated. I opened the file and it seems like the right number is like 4 degrees. Stinking PS only allows 6 degrees or higher and either way I went I felt was too slanted so I left it :-/
Dorian, stoked you like it. This is actually 16x9 already :-)
Didn't know you were making a book? There are some great bodies out there, thankfully starting to get a feel for this one and really enjoying it. Hope you get to too soon!
Paul, man appreciate your feedback and glad you enjoy it too!
Brian, I am not trying to offend you...
My suggestion was this, to each their own.

Both versions work for me.
I like the forward wing position and nice color pallete. I would add more blue to the splash.

OK, but using RoT's, WDYT?Oh, and this one is already 16x9 ;-)
