I like the image the way the light catches the head it is really appealing. Probably due to the time of day I get the impression there is a slight colour cast.
If it were mine I would check the colour balance and lift the shadows a little, I think there is more detail to be revealed in the mane. It may be possible to lessen the very bright light under the right eye.
Did you by any chance get one without the leaf obscuring the nose?

A lovely, pensive quality to this. The field of flowers add to the appeal.

Dear Basil,
Beautiful male, gorgeous mane, lovely pose, how handsome he is! That lovely light on his face makes the image for me. Well composed and the little flowers add so much to the scene.
In terms of processing I am afraid I do not have much to add, agree with above suggestions like lifting the blacks a bit and looking into the slight colour cast.
Overall an extremely appealing image that brings wonderful memories of my Kalahari trips, I am very grateful you shared it with us and would appreciate seeing more from you
Kind regards,

The lighting is just about perfect with all the attention put onto his face. Personal choice would have put him slightly higher in the frame, but a well seen and taken shot

Basil, you have it all there within the original capture, just keep your processing simple.
