Fiery-throated Hummingbird
I thought this beauty of a hummingbird was a fitting subject for this month's theme. The photo was taken on a perch at a multiple flash setup during my recent Costa Rica workshop.
Canon 5D4, Sigma 150-600mm C @ 361mm, f/11, 1/200, ISO 400, manual exposure

Wow, what fab colours. Iridescence don't come much better than that. BG and perch look cool as well, and 'fit' the bird nicely. Lovely pose and HA. A real wee beauty.
Well done and TFS

I wish there was a bit more colour variety on this bird! Excellent photo, I love the metallic sheen. Good perch too.

Great pose, great perch, great colors, great background. I love everything about this picture except the image quality. I was looking at it before I read it and thought that it does not seem up to your typical extremely high standard. While it still looks very good, it is not as good as I am used to. Love the Sigma by the way. Had it for years and still think it is the best value ever for an all in one wildlife lens.

You Win!! Hard to beat the colors and sheen on this little beauty. You might not be as critical about detail as most of us but it looks pretty darn sharp to me. Very nice Doug
Come join me for a Custom Raptor Workshop starting this November 2019- January 2020.
P.M. me to inquire on dates, pricing and availabilities. Thank You.

Just wondering if you have a Retina display on your computer Isaac? I've had this problem with my retina MBP computer. The problem is that web browsers seem to scrub away some of the image detail. The photos look great in Preview but they aren't quite as sharp in Safari or Chrome (I see that in this image). This shot was very sharp out of the camera. Here's a 100% crop of the unsharpened original.

Stunning image and bird!!! The image looks sharp as a tack to my lousy eyes and I am seeing a lot of details. Love my 150-600!

Doug clearly I am the odd man out on this one. I viewed on 3 screens. My iPhone, a retina IMac and another screen. On all screens the shot is very sharp. Not saying it isn't. But I don't think that the fine feather details are as good on that lens as they are on other lenses which is why I eventually sold it.
