    From the fall. There was a good wave of these guys passing through. They would not sit still, of course, so out came the audio for few minutes and BINGO some good poses for more than nano-seconds were had (and out form deep in the spruces...:)). I don't often use a square crop, but thought it looked best for this image.

    An OOF branch running along the right edge was eliminated using the patch and clone tools, and very bright green behind the OOF vegetation was burned to better tie-in with the rest of the BG.

    P.S. I do wish the OOF vegetation was not directly below the bird...

    Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/7.1, ISO 500, no EC, natural light, handheld, full-frame top to bottom.
