I mentioned previously that I am in the process of testing out some Nikon kit. I am very impressed to say the least.
This shot was taken in a nature reserve close to my parents' home in Pretoria. This red hartebeest cow was shaking her head, resulting in in awkward expression as if to query her calf about something the latter had uttered.
This shot has ZERO post-processing applied, save for ONE round of slight sharpening after resizing.
I am off on a 6-day trip to the Kruger National Park tomorrow, and will be on sporadic on-off holiday until the 3rd of January, so this might be my last post in "Wildlife" for 2009.
Thanks so much to everyone on BPN for their kind comments and honest critique...I have enjoyed learning from each and every one of you. It is a truly special community and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

Hi Morkel hope you have a great trip and its a treat having you with us !!
Love the caption :) Sweet out of the camera, when you nailed them sure don't need much PP !! Would give a little more room at the bottom for the virtual feet !!!
Hey Mork, Rietvlei always produces. Great expression, and are we going to jump to the other side. Have a great trip to Kruger and the Cape, and give me a call down there. Cheers.
Alfred - pretty much full frame this, could have zoomed out more but was still getting the hang of that brute of a lens and wanted to capture the expression.
Stu - will let you know what I end up doing with regards to gear ;)
enjoy the holiday mate!
