From Botswana last month. This is the only close view we got of this unique eagle, although we did see some in distant flight. Removed a few oof twigs.
A1, 200-600 + 1.4 TC @ 633 mm. ISO 1250, 1/2500s @ f/9, manual. HH.
ps Looking at the preview I wonder if a bit of desaturation wouldn't help, although this is how it looks in the RAW file.
Very nice Bill! I like it as is...certainly an interesting eagle...glad you were able to capture it. Love the pose, nice and sharp. Steep angle, but probably not much you could do here. I might be tempted to lighten the dark section of the perch...just a personal thing. TFS
Such a cool-looking bird!! Steep angle, and I bet you would have preferred a more interest background, but I'm sure you are also quite happy to get something of this species in your files!
You did well with a relatively clean perch and the nice head turn.
