Different Wayne and I love it first thing you notice is the head and that eye just pops. Color of the sky goes well with the vulture and love the framing. Wish maybe for some more space at the end of the primaries. TFS
Wayne, despite some fairly intense underwing shadows, the intense gaze makes this one work.
Nice contrast against the flat sky. Did you use noise reduction at all? If you did, I think you could perhaps benefit from a little texture around the head and neck area and the blacks get really smooth when doing so.
Agree with Kevin on having a little more room with the canvas.
Love the head turn! I also like the diagonal comp. I too wish for a bit more room around the bird.
I think the image needs more space all around.
I am thinking the light is a bit harsh. I like the eye and beak though.
TFS
nice light, the image especially the face is soft as posted. as a flight photographer, flat aka "pancake according to Artie " wing positions rarely work for me and this isn't working either. wings up, down or banking will make the image a lot more dynamic and sets it apart from "just a snap shot"

For me, with the great head turn, the killer eye, and the bird angling to our left, I am fine with the flat wings (pancake) flight pose. Yes to a bit more room on each side.
with love, artie

The head turn makes this one. Yes, to more room or crop in even tighter.
