Dan nice detail not so sure about the green line down the left. I find it distracting maybe clone the line above the head also some on the right. Has some feather mites going on. Passage bird right? TFS
You were close here. Excellent detail in those feathers. Nice eye contact.
Facial details and direct stare are great! Looks like you were right on top of him. Really pops on the smooth BG. Can you tone down neck whites at all? Looks pretty hot form here.
Also, any chance you can get away from the square-sigh crop with a 4x5 or something taller?
merhaba Dankearl, çok güzel ve detaylarla dolu. tebrikler
Excellent detail, the white neck feathers are a little hot. Never heard of feather mites.
Dan, many great comments already. I love the detail, showing off the D500 capabilities and especially love the horizon in the catchlight.
Dorian's comments about the shoulder feathers noted.
I too would love to see a slight blend in the green to yellow behind. And personally, I am ok with the more square crop in a situation like this and like your presentation.
Overall really nicely done from my view!
Very good portrait.
Great IQ and light.
I would try to blend the lines in the BG to achieve a blended transition between the yellow and the green,

Love the bird and the feather detail. I am becoming a fan of square and boxy crops. Perhaps some more off the top would lessen the impact of the green/yellow/green problem above the head.

a lil blend treatment otherwise perfecto!
super head shot, needs a touch more contrast for me. Looks like a young bird. Young ones are less skittish.
I'd try to recover the neck whites if possible. lots of details
