Was walking about 15 minutes before sunrise and spotted this male boat-tailed grackle displaying on the boardwalk rail. Luckily he was perched in a small nook in the boardwalk designed for included two person bench. So he stayed even if others passed (walkers like to come in early twilight for the cooler air). Perched at one corner of the nook, I slid to the opposite corner only around three meters away and created this image. Pushed to a little beyond ETTR as dark subject. Very narrow DOF at this distance. With R6 AF down to -6.5EV, tracking was still good. As it was dark, took off some magenta in DPP and warmed some in Camera Raw.
