Yeah, this looks great! The slightly wider crop -- with elongated horizontal axis -- might suggest a bit of CW rotation, but wait to see if anyone else agrees. Cheers.

Thanks Dorian, your valued opinions welcomed and learned from. The limestone outcrop was gently angling away from the shore where I lay. I was aware of the illusion, so placed close attention to level in the viewfinder (ahhh, mirrorless). Looks like it, but no rotation needed. Thanks again.
Like this one better. Nice match of water colors and yellows on bird. Dynamic pose, looks like he is getting ready to pounce! Some more DOF would have been nice for the perch. Be careful!

Yes, Randy, I literally just followed Dorian's advice on previous post and looked for a horizontal frame to work with. Now, as far as being careful, you're the reason I re-thought the dangers of going low at the banks of fresh water anywhere in Florida. That wet hand loon canvas, amazing. In reality gators are not aggressive toward people. Used to swim in fresh water holes frequently when growing up. All had gators. almost for sure. They are generally more afraid of us than vice versa. Exceptions being, if you don't see them and surprise them or mother with babies. Also , if people feed them and get then to associate people with food. This water is surrounding suburban houses and condos. Usually, that water has only smaller gators as any bigger animals will be removed as they can take pets at waters edge. BTW, I still want to see your loon boat setup... Thanks as always for valued inputs.
Hi David, another nice image of a Green Heron. I really like the green and yellow water background, pose and alertness of the hunting bird. Not sure what it is but in front of the rock perch there are some artifacts the match the contour of the rock perch that could be fixed or discover why they are there. Also the image does need to be rotated. I rotated the image (see post of your image) using the water line along the rock perch then checked the rotation with identifiable points on the front of the rock perch being perpendicular to the same points in the reflection. Lovely image that could be better with a little work. Thank you for sharing.

This is quite nice. Good POV. I particularly like your choice of SS that froze the bird and gave you some lovely motion in the water. I agree with Dorian and Joe about the rotation. Waterlines can be deceiving - as you say, the rock could be angling away - but the reflections indicate to me that some CW was necessary, per Joe's repost. I also see the artifacts he mentioned - an easy fix.
Nice stalking pose of the heron, it conveys the tension of the hunt. The Bg makes it stand out nicely. Wish his other foot wasnt behind the rock, but sometimes its a take it or leave situation.
In some cases we sometimes get the illusion of rotation being needed (even if it is level), and in those cases I still go ahead and rotate the image to get rid of that illusion. Anyhow, between that and correcting the processing artifacts you'll have a winner of an image of this Green Heron seemingly about to pounce on an unsuspecting prey!
