Taken recently, but didn't realize that its beak was injured. Would have liked a better HA.

Hi Paul, super soft and technic. congratulations
Thank you very much Volkan.
Even without a perfect head angle his face really pops in this frame. Looks like he was pretty close given the you don't have a ton of depth of field across the wings.
I'm not sure what that extra beak-thing is, but I've seen Herring Gulls with something similar here in the US. I don't think it's actually part of the beak so much as
some sort of inappropriate fleshy extension which grows our of the gape/chin. Fun frame regardless.
looks like he ate a crab leg and the spike is coming out :D

Paul, nice frame.
I've not seen gulls with such red beak and feet. Matches the eye ring :-)
Probably would wish for near wing to match rear position but very nice clarity. A touch of extra noise in the gull's underside it looks like.
Just a tad of halos around the beak on large and small monitor.
TFS!
Neat looking gull. Too bad about that bill. Love that red eye ring.
Thank you all. Brian: Not sure why you're seeing halos, but will check out the raw file again...thanks.
No problem Brian...always good to have a keen eye! Cheers.
