Artistic license looks good here. Once i saw a bear image wear the only thing visible was the rim light everything else was black. This reminds me of that.

Thanks John. I have an image like that too but think it belongs more in the OOTB Forum and it also wouldn't qualify for this month's theme since the water isn't visible.

I prefer this to the previous postings, good for you to move out of the 'comfy' slippers.
I purposely underexposed in the field to emphasize the rim lighting on the cub and then dropped the exposure even more in the conversion.
But in it's nature Rachel, one is shooting anything from -2 down for backlit and under exposing, so pushing in PP helped here, BTW what was the metering?

Thanks Keith and Steve. Steve - We've had this conversation before, because I shoot in manual the exposure comp is not retained for the 5D3. I brought it down an additional -2.40 in pp.
Thanks again,
Rachel

I remember the previous Rachel and I think I had some reservations but this one looks really eye catching to me. Just a hint of detail in the bear and the rim light looks really good, as do water and grasses, I think this would make a nice print.

Rachel, this is my cuppa
Wonderful Theme image, I am loving it. Rim light is superb and I like the walking pose from the bear, mouth open and teeth visible.
Very well captured and processed. I am quite jealous of this one - lovely work my friend!!!
Warmest regards,

Fantastic shot Rachel, my kind of frame. The rim lighting is spot on a and you've picked the right frame for the treatment with the separation in all 4 legs.
