Taken at Sunset Dam Kruger Park.
I was photographing pied kingfishers hence the high shutter speed. I have another shot with the poor fish stuck between the croc's teeth.
Hi Jon, superb action and timing here. Poor lil fish!! Nice details and colours. Only wish we could see a bit more of the crocs eye, that would have been a killer. But no deal breaker.
Hi Jon, nice timing and great you have the wee fish in the jaws too. I think you can have a play with the Exposure to get some more dynamic range/variants coming through, it has the appearance of a CPL, reducing glare and some detail, however it's all there. Great to see something new. Not sure if they close their eyes when they close their jaws??? Techs look good at this distance you could easily find the subject just swallows even more DoF, but nicely done and SS was on your side.
Hi Jon - You didn't mention you saw a kill. What a fun and unique image. I love it. Yes, a vertical image would work too. Good suggestion from Steve to bring out a little more detail and texture.
I would go for a vertical comp here, IQ permitting. This is nice and sharp and there's much more detail in the RP, love it!
A tiny morsel for such a big croc...Just enough for one tooth, I guess Awesome capture, very well done, so glad the Kruger gave you such wonderful sightings!
