The active focus point was on the lit up feathers of the right wing, which probably put it in the hyperlocal range (I may not be wording that right but I think I understand the concept), hence the decent focus bill tip to tail tip. The redness of the iron stain these birds pick up when feeding in the iron rich muds of Wrangell Is. in the Arctic Ocean gave it the colour on the face. 7DII,EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 IS MII, ISO200,f/8, 1/1250, HH, cropped to 33% of original pixels.
