Wonderful detail in those eyes!
Great detail in the eyes and proboscis areas. Well done on this one mate.
I can't say I am a fan of flies, but being an Aussie, you gotta live with them. Great eyes here! I'm glad I don't get to see them that close.
Thank you for sharing!
Good focus and details on the compound eyes. Nice lighting too with no hotspots

Excellent detail in those eyes and nice lighting with the diffused flash. All the bits of debris in the foreground are a little distracting - those could be cleaned up if you are OK with that.
The eyes are awesome, and the title very good! The foreground stuff & brighter colors are somewhat distracting. Since the eyes are the main event, I would suggest an alternate, and OOTB, tight crop of just the eyes.
This is just a quick idea of what I was thinking about. I also added a texture and blur to the foreground to reduce the impact of the whites & details there. Just some ideas, and I know this changes the more documentary look of your posting. I am fascinated by these compound eyes & that you got this fly to pose for you!
