Juvenile Pied-billed Grebe?
This is the first time I've seen something like this little guy (or gal). There was a Pied-billed Grebe nearby. Is it a juvie?
Shot yesterday in freshwater ponds near Petaluma, CA. (Apologies for the moving-away pose. When I raise the camera they move away.)
