First time shooting osprey....

Not only was it my first time shooting a used 300/2.8 I'd purchased, it was also the first time shooting osprey. I was hand holding the D800 with 300/2.8 from a boat. This was 2013....haven't photographed them since.


They are such beautiful birds! I caught this one coming in to the nest just before touch down.

I cropped the right side for composition. Processed in ACR and CS6 with separate subtle curves for bird and sky. Very light sharpening.
