    I captured this Mallard bathing at Lake Mirror in Lakeland, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D7000
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED shot at 390mm (585mm FFE)
    1/1600 F/5.6 Matrix Metering + 1 EV ISO 1250
    Post processed in Lightroom 5 and Photoshop Elements 10
    Cropped for composition

    Joe:

    That is some serious splashing going on. You did well to be able to focus on the bird through all the flying water.

    I like the comp which works well with his angled pose and head angle.

    I had been to Lake Morton once, but never Lake Mirror. How would you compare them?

    Hi Joseph, excellent bathing behaviour here, and just love how you have managed to capture sharp detail through the flying water. The greens of the head pop nicely, and if anything, I would try and squeeze a bit more out of the eye.

    Excellent image. Great bathing behaviour and water droplets all around and nice composition.
