The old bearded guy howling at the moon !!! :) Really dramatic, but would be even more dramatic if head was tilted up a little more :P

Seriously speaking, excellent details, and the black background works for this one. It'd be nice if there were a bit more head turn towards us. Also, head is less sharp compared to chest, and maybe another round of USM would improve the impact.

    Thanks a lot for sharing!

haha Very cool! Love the way the plumes are flowing forwards. The details and definition in the feathers are fantastic. I like the way the light falls on the bird I think the BG works well with the lighting of the bird.

Nothing wrong with dark BG's Sid, I feel they make subjects pop so much better. Good pose with open beak, and like how the plumage is flared at the bottom of the neck.

It works for me I think it is a powerful image, in the right place I think it would make an excellent print.

    Subhrashis,

On my monitor head looks much sharper than body. It took 6 years for me to realize what I see is my version of makers image. Read this thread it your get time

Love the dark background Sid and exposure well handled to suit the image concept.

Sid, I love dark BGs. the wind blown plumage is what makes this one for me.

agree that pixel density of screen makes a difference on perceived sharpness. When I look at some of my not-so-sharp photos on my 4th gen. ipod touch, they look stunning sharp :-)

Dark background looks good here! Very artistic image. I like the angled lighting conditions presented here.
