Hi John, this is really nice. Love the portrait a lot with good colours and details. Those antlers are amazing with good DOF and BG.

Hi John .... lovely portrait . You very nice details extracted for that Iso , well done . Pose , hard angle and eye contact are stunning , and the BG fits very well to the overall scene.
I think you can afford a tiny bit more mid tone depth for a little bit more Oomph . Plus i would add some NR to the BG , does look a bit noisy to me .
Nice one .... TFS Andreas

Hi John -- impressive shot and subject , that bkg adds to the image and nice details for that high iso , colours look good to me though haven't ever seen this in wild.
I agree with Andreas reg some NR on BKG , a slight midtown boost will add some punch. Rest looks fine to me.
Nice one, TFS !

Another fine shot John, for me too I think the buck needs a little more expression in the ones. A dead easy starting point :- select subject/select mask/curves, select Darker then adjust opacity of the curves layer. This just gives an idea of possibilities, from there you could for example do some blending with another layer.

Hi John, agree with Andreas on adding some more mid tone, but I feel now you need to now start to look at alternative shots to these to keep the interest moving and building on your knowledge. Maybe try to find photographers books who also shoot deer for inspiration? Just a thought.
