You may think, these two Gentoo Penguins are hugging or fallen in love .... nope they are not !! They are actually "fighting" for the spot on the little mound .... for whatever reason , maybe for the better overview .
In the BG are hundreds of King penguins , simply ignoring those two .
Hope you like it , some may find the BG quite busy and distracting somehow . I do agree it is busy but that's how it is there on South Georgia , depending on the location .

Andreas, I would say "cute" before reading, but in this case....... FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!
So yeah man, interestingly I got away from C1 several months ago because I felt it made some odd colorations in my frames - particularly with Nikon. Artie and Arash love it obviously but oddly I also feel like this frame has kind of a greenish hue to it. Not necessarily a WB issue but just a sort of fringing type green hue. Maybe I'm just losing my marbles.
Anyway, the dude in lower left is hilarious. There's always one front row viewer for any fight. That said, I'm fine with the bkg but this dude does draw my attention away a little.
But hey, the action and the fight for the king of the hill, and the processing are good enough for me.
It works for me Andreas, the differential focus lets me concentrate on the main two subjects but I get a clear understanding of the surroundings. The snow flakes add to the ambience.
Background is distant enough that the shot works for me. I never would have known they were fighting had you not told us. I particularly like the view of the clubby feet. Snow, as always, is a nice touch.
Brian - i do not understand what you are seeing or what is " a sort of fringing type green hue " ??? For sure there is , here and there , some green in the image .... as there is grass in the BG and even the whites of the penguins showing -2 in the A Channel if you hover over them with the eyedropper . And if you search closer in other areas of the images , you might find even more of the -2 ..... but overall there is no green cast , so it does not bother me .
Regarding C1 ... well you never really get your hands on C1 , IMHO . At the moment you are jumping between LR and DPP , complaining that one or the other is not delivering the colors you like .... for me it is the operator , not the software that causes the color issues ( if there are any) .
You might know that I use C1 and DPP , mostly DPP though . I would never complain about color in both of them .... as I have it in my hands how the colors will come out !!!!!!!
DPP is simple stuff with less options .... no targeted adjustments possible . That is the point where C1 is coming into the game .... complex and truck loads of options to work with , not fancy stuff , no automation ..... no simply basic stuff . Layers , masks , luminosity masks , the perfect color correction tools ..... meaning I can work for a very long time in the RAW stage of an image . Work very precise .... which is not possible with the very simple kept DPP .
In the end this is my personal view .... and you have reasons why you are using yours . The big difference is .... I am using both of my software , since I shoot digital , apart from trying out other stuff like LR / ACR . I know DPP from inside out and C1 quiet well .... at least I think I do .
