Hi folks .... going again with slow shutter , for some dynamic features inside the image .
Some might call it " creative " .... I would say playful in my case
Image taken in Botswana in the Khwai concession .

EF 500 IS L II

Full frame
F 9 ; Iso 1600 ; 1/40 sec
Processed with DPP 4 and PSCC 2022
Thanks for watching and commenting to my previous posting
I have had a couple of views of this image and the more I see it the more l like it. The evening light looks good on the elephant's hide, the head and eye look pretty sharp with a hint of movement in the legs. I see you were on a fixed focal length, from an aesthetic point of view I think it would have been beneficial to see the ele a little smaller in the frame, but obviously not possible.
Thanks Jon ... I do agree about a wider look would have been better . But I was stuck with the long lens and the fact that I was on foot .... surrounded by elephants , made it not easier to move
Excuses excuses

Hi Andreas -- It is always difficult to get all elements in order with slow ss , but i loved the motion in the front leg , splashing the water and the almost sharp eye. loved the magenta hues in the scene , typical of Africa.
Boetie Andreas...I too used to get stuck with the long lens and in fact was addicted to it, LOL. Probably still am...
Back to your frame...I like this very much, well seen and taken. Interesting techs Love the water splash and colours, good detail. Eye looks a bit 'wild ', perhaps you lightened it too much, what say you?
Hope all is well on your side and that you manage to get about and do some photography. On my side all good but rather hectic work wise. Miss the thrill of posting images here in the forum and waiting for feedback. Happy to be able to at least view your images
Chat soon, and I hope you have a great rest of the week,
... that boy was wild Gabriela , no special eye treatment from my side
I sat down not too far from the Bakkie , whereas Anette preferred to stay inside most of the time while we were parked . As it got too dark .... I just dropped the SS and fired frame after frame , mostly funky useless stuff . But at least some nice ones filled my HD .
Have a good one , glad you enjoy to look here on BPN .
I hope you will find more time to post , miss your big gun shots
