    Default Surf Scoter

I went to Barnegat Light yesterday morning. The wind was light and it was quite mild but the waves at the end of the jetty were brutal, in other words I got pretty wet and the rocks were very slippery. The sea ducks were still there but the choppy water made photographing them a bit difficult.

Awesome shot Axel ! I love the motion feeling that the waves are creating and the opposite direction of flight...it seems as if its going to come right out of the frame..and the eyes just staring right into the viewer ! Great shot, love it.

Terrific shot, Alex. Amazing to catch him before he got past you, with great wing position and head angle. I especially like the range of blacks on the underwing. Great shooting in tough conditions.

Nice capture Axel. I like the position of the duck in the frame. Nice details and the exposure looks good. I was there in the afternoon. The surf was choppy as you said.

Thanks, Denise! I was there until 1:30 PM or so. We must have just missed each other.

Tough birds to get coming at you, and an exposure nightmare. You did well with both! Those waves look pretty rough...making me a little sea sick! :)

Very nice Axel, love the details and sharpness as well as the flight angle. Might try to bring out a bit more detail from the shadows.
