I'd probably darken the pupil just a bit, but other than that this is a very nice image of a tough BIF - especially flying parallel. Had it just jump out of the bird house?

You are quickly becoming the man on BIF. Love everything about this canvas and appreciate the difficulty in creating it. I have same question as Colin. TFS
An amazing capture, given the difficulty of catching these guys in flight. Good detail, colors and background. I'm also interested in Dan's and Colin's questions. You're right that you need good light with these birds, and with that gear combo. I've had little luck tracking BIF with the 500PF and 1.4; you're limited to f/8, and I find the AF to do a lot of searching.

Thanks for the comments.
These are flying around nest boxes in the Columbia River.
They fly and flutter in and out, so you pre-focus sometimes and can
pick them up at other times flying in and out of focus range.
It is fun and challenging, went again this morning in bright sun.
You get better and better at it and you learn the patterns.

Right on flight shot. The only nit i have is a looser crop.
Really nice. Lovely frame of this highly-kinetic bird. Only chance for these is when you have a house with an established flight plan!
This is Kick**s good!
No nits from me!
