Very nice one this!! I feel the feather detail is a bit soft, considering the fact that you seemed to ve good light. Please correct me if i am wrong here in any way.

Superb image Steve: great light, great setting and great pose for this wonderful creature. Looks like there was good reflected light off the surroundings which has made the face and front of the bird beautifully illuminated and enabled you to show off those great details, colours and tones. The eyes are mesmerising. The subdued tones and near homogenous colours in the surroundings all help make this a stand-out, creating nice separation with the owl. So much to like here. No nits from me.

Nice frame here like how the owl blends into its environment.

Pretty sweet Steve. This is a bird thats very high on my list. We had a couple here last year, but they only came out after the sun had set so I didn't have much luck. I love the look at the eyes and details and lighting was well controlled. I like the BG as its very typical but not overwhelming at all. TFS

First thing that came into my mind was 'natural'. And, the stare, with all colours leading to it. Nice DOF. FG blending in with the BG shows the bird real good, especially the eyes. Nice one.
