In Harns Marsh in March there were several Tricolored Herons in breeding plumage. This particular individual stood out from the others with his striking blue bill and facial skin. No saturation added. Pixel peepers may note that I might have been slightly more aggressive with the NR on the bird.
Cool BG, Bird looks fine, if you used NR, I can't tell.
I used to never use NR on the bird, but do occasionally as I use
a nice sharpening technique that seems to work.
How much and what kind NR did you use?
Lighting on the bird is perfect, and the water behind adds interest (if not a bit distracting). I might shift him right in the frame a bit as his beak is really close to the left edge as is. Gotta love that blue facial skin!
Thank you all. Dan, I'm the same way. I used to avoid any NR on the subject, but some of the more recent NR programs do a decent job if you're careful. In my last several images I've used Topaz DeNoise AI, but very sparingly on the subject, trying to use the Retain Detail slider to compensate for the NR.
