This was my first experience of the lek, weather was very dull and cloudy, crop a little larger than I would have liked but I think it is a start.
Good getting this close as you can, to the lek. Yes, the action of the lek looks good, but the blacks don't, oh for better sunlight. I think, for these guys on full lek, you would need a real good lighting condition. BG fits nicely, and you got nice detail in the whites. What time of the day was it.
Hi Jon, as 'Work in Progress' fine, but I feel you need to be closer, is this from a hide???? I would also look to having a SS of at least 1/2500 to freeze any action. Light may not have been on your side, but being overcast has certainly helped the whites. BKG is typical of the location with nothing distracting and conflicting with the subjects.
Finland is a great location for this and in the snow too.
Hi Steve this was from the car, I couldn't believe it! I agree regards settings but I had to crop significantly, I am optimistic I can get bigger in the frame and better light. Also I feel I can get more out of the current images.
Wonderful find John ahh mate i'd love to photograph these and capers, some special guys for me. As a work in progress cool, but I can't wait to see more, all the luck in the world mate
Hmm the dull grey...... seems a lot of us in blighty are loving the light of late
