Wow, what a wonderful bird, beautifully photographed. Those head colours are really something. Lovely detail in the whites as well.

Really nice detail on this stunner of a duck. Whites look great and you captured the colorful tones on the head perfectly. I think I would put the bird a little lower in the frame. Also I am not sure if I am seeing it wrong but the black of the back looks a bit light like maybe you lifted the shadows a touch too much. Also, and I know this is being super picky but the bird looks like it has already passed you by and is swimming slightly away from you. I would always prefer for that not to be the case.

Thanks Isaac, as far as the blacks go they were not lifted on the back, maybe our calibration and/or monitors differ on brightness.
As far has having the bird lower in frame I always leave room for the the legs/feet wether they are visible or not, and as far as it being past me it hadn't.
Thanks again it made me go back and really check the image.

You have captured the iridescence very well and managed to just keep the whites. I can see what Isaac means about the blacks - they look almost matt and flat compared to the brightness of the rest of the bird. Maybe its the level of cropping?

This is a beautiful frame of one of my favotite ducks. They are so tiny IRL.
The whites are superb. Blacks look OK on my laptop.
Love the POV and comp.
I wouldn't mind a sliver more room on the LHS for the tail and a little lless below. You would still have lots of room for the virtual feet.
Really nice.

Well done on the exposure Tim. And the colors look great. I like the idea of moving the bird a little lower in the frame.

Hi Tim, excellent exposure overall, and especially on the whites. Yep, you nailed the light showing up the iridescence, and before reading any comments, I too would like to see a touch off the bottom.
