Northern Parula
Yesterday on a walk to our family cemetery I noticed a thicket of Wild Plum blooming. When I went to inspect I found Blue-winged Warblers, Blue-gray Gnatcathers and this Northern Parula working to glean insects from the flowers. The bird was so tame that it simply ignored me as it fed. It was so close that I regretted having the 2X teleconverter on the camera but I didn't have time to remove it.
This shot is almost full frame. I just removed a little from the top.
The bird looks a little over-sharpened to me but I applied no sharpening at any point. Probably the "Automatic" setting for resizing to create the JPG in Photoshop caused it to appear sharpened because it would be using "bicubic sharper".
Comments and suggestions are welcome!

Hi Henry, I found this little beauty in the "About Birds" forum but figured you meant for it to be in the critique forum. I haven't seen a Northern Parula for a while now so I am liking the image alot. Good comp, colours, spring blooms. As posted I do not find the image over-sharpened and actually feel the face could be sharpened more.

I like this image Henry. The lighting looks quite harsh but there is nothing you could do about that. I agree with Daniel about more sharpening to the head.

I just love the pose and the details on the face. Agree with Dan on the sharpening. Also the OOF leaves and flower on the RH corner could be removed to make this look awesomer!! :)

What a little cutie-pie. I like your parula's angle and the delicate shadows of the flower on its face.
