The eye is off the charts. Outstanding.

Beautiful Shot. Love the eye. I could tone down the yellow a little, but that is personal choice.
I drove around wyoming and colorado border last week to find these birds.. Alas I only saw them far away in Pawnee National Grasslands.

Cracking portrait, Kevin. A close view of a bird often seen from afar. I agree about dropping the luminosity on the yellow a bit; that would give the eye comb a bit richer color. Otherwise, I think the bird is just a bit too far to the right in the frame. I think you could slide him left a bit. The pinkish haze is great.
I do like moving the bird over in the frame. Not so sure about the eyebrow comb. They are quite bright this time of year.
Thanks Dorian the move is better and I did some adjustments on the bright yellow.
I like tbe previous one more than this. But, this one is very nice as well. Great detail and i like the second post;s crop more.
In addition to all the positives above I love the BKGR and the head angle.

Kevin, man the 1DX gets loads of detail. I have loved the recent frames man.
Super colors, beautiful detail and the rich, smooth bkgs are to die for.
My initial thought was the og post was a little far right, but actually right in between hits it on the head for me.
Might suggest brushing out the blues in the shadows and maybe a slight dodge brush, opacity 8 or something, could really give it just a bump.
Beauties my friend, well done!
Hi Kevin ... a super cool portrait !!!
