Nice aniticpation in this action shot, Stu! The scruffy branches complement the scruffy hair-do's!
Sharpened just enough. Quite curious about the full scene in the bottom RHC. It looks like a chick on the nest?

Stu this is amazing, love the colours and the action, such detail, this has to be destined for a competition surely!
-
Awesome action shot Stu, love the facial expression on the guy incoming (sharp with great detail)... how much more space do you have bottom right as would have been cool to include more of this scene in the image.

Thanks Rich. I don't have anymore space. This is basically full frame with me concentrating on the incoming heron.
Thanks Jon and Tobie for your feedback too

Very powerful and intense! I love everything about it. Nice that you manages to include a part of the nest. Well done, Stu.

Excellent image Stuart! I like the screaming pose, IQ, exposure and composition.

Very nice one Stuart.
Nice light despite the dark skies. Cool pose of the landing bird and action.

Awesome image... the intensity of the incoming bird, wonderful capture. I concur with a previous post regarding adding more of the scene on the right hand side, if possible, but as it stands a great image. Thank you for sharing.

Great moment, light & capture. It's sharp and I like the framing of this dramatic pose. TFS.

Amazing capture, Stuart. What beautiful light you had and all the action and intensity is great. Like the warm gray BG too.

Wow. That juvie pose rocks. Stunning sharpness and EXP perfect. IQ looks great. A crop from the left and then from below to lose the adult black-headed on its nest might be an option....

Great image Stuart. There is just enough of the lower heron in the shot for me to show the full story. Techs are spot on.

Superb incoming pose and that open bill adds a nice touch of color. The image overall does feel a bit unbalanced, would like to see more of the one on the lower right, or not at all. The other option that works for my eye is to come in from the left and make it really tight. The steely gray background is beautiful.

Awesome frame Stuart. Love the pose with the open beak as it's coming in with disapproval. Techs and details are perfect. I might agree with Grace on the second bird, see more of it or remove it. Very well captured Stuart!
