Excellent perspective here Jon, this is where the RAF comes into it's own, albeit a bit fiddly at times, but it allows you the POV. Have you perhaps thought about less FG on this one compared to the previous posting? The slight head turn for me is pretty cool and you had just enough DoF as beak to eye look pin sharp, albeit I might have gone straight to ISO1600 rather than an intermediate setting.

Very nice Jon. Good detail and POV. I may brighten the head and bill a wee bit. I bought a right angle finder some time ago. Used it a view times at the harbour, then, accidentally dropped it into the salt water

Nice pose and great low angle. I agree with Steve that less room below would be better. Maybe a straigt 16:9 crop. Where the whites on this bird this dirty looking and brownish in person? Or is a bit of that caused by maybe some highlight reduction?
Love the POV and the iridescence on the head. Perfect HA. The eye looks like the nictitating membrane was partially across but I think it is the reflection of the sky when I zoom in.Almost looks like an eyelid- anyway a bit distracting.
Agree with a bit less on the bottom and wondered the same thing as Isaac re: the whites.
Gail
Isaac, Gail, the whites were not blown and the yellowish dirty colour is genuine, you should have seen my trousers and jacket! The birds had previously spent some time on a mucky ramp from which ribs are launched.
You got some nice light and details there Jon, the colors look good too, like the muddy tip of the beak as well
