Gio I also love the thought process and essentailly the results, but I also wonder if it's too dark....Gio if it is to be this dark I might clone our all the dots of light around the muzzle and below left paw. To me the stark nature of the image needs to be uncluttered.
I too like the idea here but personally feel that, in order for this to work you would have to 'clean it up' a bit. The BG has a number of colourful speckles ( green, blue, red) and there's a visible branch near the lion which I find quite bothersome. I also think you sharpened those hairs belonging to the mane way too much.
Are the dots above the snout from moisture on the whiskers? If yes, I would keep those and evict the rest. I love the image as presented and do not feel that it is too dark.
