Hi Jon, thought I would chime in as lots of views, but zero comments.
A bit too tight at the foot for my tastes, irrespective of FG clutter, to me it would add context. Very much like the cobweb strands, but as you know I still think there is more to extract . The colours and overall light is very flat and uniform, probably very true to the scene, but perhaps adding a little more oomph might just add some sparkle to the original capture. I've probably sprinkled too much 'Goopher dust', and pushed things far more, but perhaps it might get the ball rolling with other comments??? Just trying to get more depth & detail from the subject...

Neat name for a mushroom. The webs on the top are a nice touch. Past the prime a little but you rendered it well.
