I thought that this picture would be appropriate to post as Valentine's Day is approaching.
I just got back from Florida.
I spent the first eight days at St. Pete Beach and went to some amazing birding spots from there.
One was Fort De Soto where I took this picture.
This couple have been around and together for years as I heard from locals.

That is a nice bonus to have both the white and red morphs in full interaction like this! I'd prefer if the white one's eye was at least partially visible, but the bill-to-bill contact is priceless. Seems just a tad soft?
Karl, well timed to capture the togetherness of their beaks. I like the detail although as Dan has mentioned, a little more sharpening will bring this out even more. Good exposure on the white egret.
Wonderful interaction captured here, Karl. Love the how the FG & BG compliments the birds. Hoping to get these guys together this spring in their full breeding plumage.
What a sighting. Exposure looks good on both birds. As mentioned a little more sharpening. Would you maybe add a little canvas on the left as the tail is on the frame now?
Thank you all and thanks to Prof. Philip J. Laipis from the University of Florida, who took his time and showed me around on my first day and helped me to find the Long-billed Curlew and these two beautiful birds I just posted. (He doesn't know me but we are birders and bound together with this wonderful passion.)
