Good settings for selective sharpening/NR edge refining
I was wondering what settings (radius, smooth, feather, contrast and shift edge) people are using for selective noise reduction/sharpening. I generally use fairly aggressive NR (7-10) depending on ISO and background separation needed and sharpen pretty aggressively too by inverting my selection. What factors influence these settings?

I only feather my selection by two or three pixels and shift the edge slightly depending on what I am doing

Settings vary with each image. View at 100% (1:1) and do what looks best. Caution about (over)-sharpening a master file. Resize a derivative file for output then finalize the sharpening.
There are several tools for both NR and sharpening, from the raw stage to a PS file. The only caution is that there is no magic, and NR and sharpening will to a large extent work against one another. Prevention of noise and a sharp image in capture is the best.
