Hi Greg, that's a great image of one of Australia's most loveable larrikin avian characters! Good detail and sharpness, and I like this type of background which still has enough familiar OOF shapes in it to provide strong hints of environment. Also, the bird is well positioned against those background shapes. Excellent exposure and lighting too. If you have cropping freedom, the only minor suggestions I'd make are to allow a bit of space between the lower wingtip and the bottom of the frame (rather than touching), and to have the bird slightly more left of centre horizontally in the final crop.
Cheers, David

Wonderful detail and background, and ideal wing position. Ditto David's comp suggestions; and the bird feels a bit oversharpened on my screen.

I think this image needs more space around the bird. This was not shot with optimal sun angle, more like side lighting. I would also back off from sharpening.

Excellent form and I like the way the angled light gives texture to the feathers. Lovely background too. It is a bit tight in the frame though.

Yes too more room below and in front. But tack sharp with nice details and a solid background.

Nice BIF of this species and nice wing position.
I never add canvas so I feel for you.. If you can at the bottom it would be good.

Nice frame with strong light and detail. I generally echo the comments of others:
-more room all around but particularly below
-back off sharpening a bit. That will also help noise if you applied sharpening across frame rather than juts on subject.

Great wing position here. Tack sharp.
I would add canvas below in a New York minute but feel your pain that it did not happen in the field.
Love the BG.
Light was a bit harsh and off angle but I think the image is quite well processed.

Yep, the comp needs more room below but well done on the other aspects of the image. You gotta love a full downstroke wing position!

Thanks all for the comments, appreciated. I knew it was tight... The off angle light was good on the wings, the problem with these guys is when the crest is down the head looks really smooth and I tried to bring out some texture there, but agree it is over sharpened.
