This is a winner Jonathan! A lovely overall composition, the bird is sharp and stands out nice against that great BG. I'd wish for a few degrees head turn towards us. I like the foliage but I'd be tempted to remove the foliage at the far left as well as above the bird's tail and back. I'm not mad on the box type crop. TFS

Andreas, I agree I normally do lift the eye a little.......... but I didn't this time- for this particular post because an ornithologist friend of mine saw a version with the brighter eye and said, "I bet it didn't really look like that did it?" I will probably strike a balance between reality and pictorial view in future.

Nice bird, perch, BG, techs. I agree with Paul about a bit more head turn, but all-in-all I enjoy this image a lot!

Well done Jon..Really good detail on the bird, and I really like the perch...BG colours show the bird well. Andreas's eye...makes a big difference
