I guess this one's from the south. Probably has a couple churren it's raising up too.
Anyhow, it's probably over your heads.... the slang/joke I mean, not the bird. Well, maybe the bird was too.
So yeah, the gray is just simple, unobstructed water in the bkg like it or not.

Beautiful wing position and open bill. Background is ok.

Such details and colors that really pop off the uniform grey BG. Looks like a plate in a fancy bird guide. I like it. TFS

This is a spectacular flight capture from a very fast (and noisy) bird. Well done.

Tack sharp, great light and perfect down stroke.
Not an easy shot to get.
I would do a little noise reduction on the far wing- not a big deal but I noticed it.
I like your crop but could see a 4 x 6 as an option.
Good one!

excellent wing position and the open beak is a plus for sure, the light and BG are nice. OP looks a bit contrasty to me Steve's is an improvement. I also see noise on the near and far wings

My opinion is blacks are black and whites are white, not gray or yellow. I quite like the contrast as such and believe it represents the bird well as it was shot. Steves background is a nice alternative, however it was a very gray toned water in the bkg, not to be confused with blue sky.

Look great. Love the pose and the framing. The open mouth is a nice touch.
