I took this image a few years ago in the Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming. Upfront I would like to day that the mist was added to it durring PP. I like the effect. I used Nik Color Efec and the Graduated Fog filter. I am wondering if anyone else likes it and the image in particular. Shooting data follows:

Hey Mac,
I'm torn on this one. Part of me likes the mist and mood.....part of me want a bit more pop although that would definitely change the mood. I've looked at this with a browser crop too....eliminating the rocks on the LRH side......I like it too but I also like the OP comp so just another option for you to explore.
Wheeler, I don't mind the mist even if it's added in PP. What I don't like is the fuddled/blurry details upfront which makes it look like it is better suited to an "OOTB" posting than pure "Landscape"......is that an effect of the filter? It looks like heat haze affected the critical focus.

i am not sure what the problem is. I can tell you it had nothing to do with heat as the weather was quite cool, as a matter of fact it snowed the night before and had melted by 11:00am. Probably the temperture was in the low 40 F. It could be just lousy focus. I really am not sure the problem, but I agree there is a bit of a problem. Thanks as usual for your thoughts.
Mac
