Douglas - beautiful colors and I like the comp with the 3 large rocks. I do wonder if you had gone slightly wider if you could have avoided cutting the rock on the lhs and the smaller rocks on the rhs. A couple of nits - there's a halo around the rocks, fairly pronounced on the lhs of the closest rock and on the right edge of the middle two. There's some noise or other PP issue in parts of the sky. It's most noticeable in the lighter area above the tree on the closest rock and in the purple/blue immediately above the third rock from the left.

A lot of noise, iso160 w/5DM2 should not look like this.

Reprocessed using PK Sharpening and less boost on the colors. It is full frame, so couldn't include more on the sides. Exposure in Bridge was -.22. I think this ver is cleaner, but still not very smooth. More suggestions welcomed.

Doug, repost looks much better. With scenes as nice as this, maybe better to just minimize PP, crop for comp,
and call it good.

Mate, lookin' better; however, there is a strong white halo around the large rock and to a lesser extent around the others. I think you need to reduce the opacity of your sharpening.

Definitely needs a bit of CW.

I would also consider a bit of a burn in the foreground as given where the shadows on the rocks are falling, the foreground is very bright.

The repost is mostly a huge improvement, esp. the noise reduction in the sky. However, you've lost detail in the rocks, as they are now considerably darker.

Hi Douglas, lovely colors in the sky and I prefer the pane #1. I find the extra foreground in the repost to be a bit of a distraction. Is this low-tide? I wonder what it might look like at high-tide?

Awesome colours and strong base comp. You received some good input already. I would have loved to see a proper exposure-blend here to maximise the dynamic range and get good detail/exposure for every area...

Yes, great potential here! Just a note on Nik sharpening. You can reduce/remove the global sharp adjustment and then use control points to add sharpen to just the areas you want, the
rocks, foreground etc, and leave the sky unsharpened. Sharpening the sky will greatly increase noise. The repost is moving in the right direction.
