    Lynn, just saw this after I had posted my own spoonie in flight! I really like this warm sweet light, and the detail in the wings. Nice sharpness and I like your comp. Good job keeping the whites of the neck in check.
    The only thing I can think to critique is perhaps pushing your ISO up a bit might have resulted in a faster shutter speed, resulting in sharper wingtips. But overall a very fine image.

    Thanks Allen,

    This was an easy one. At High Island, all you have to do is wait for late afternoon and start snapping. The light is always behind you in the afternoon at Smith Oaks, because of the layout of the lake.

    I will be going back in early April. Never have too many Spoonies. ;-)

    Nice pose, light, colours. Sharp too. I only wish the background wasn't so aggressively mottled...you already photographed this wide-open so its hard to avoid unlkess the spoonies decide to fly farther from the shore.
