I love watching these guys doing their wing-shading thing. This was from Bunche Beach about 3 weeks ago. I cloned out an oof ibis and some distracting bg. C&C appreciated.

great pose and details, excellent IQ. the bird is concentrated on prey but you still have critical eye contact. I only wish the shoreline in the BG was not there but it seems like this was not possible.

I was so taken by the sharp face, the killer pose, the curve of the neck, and the position of the head against the raised wing that I did not even see that far shoreline. Totally superb. If it were mine I would clean up the distracting bits of reddish dirt (???) on the underwing just behind the head.

    Bill,

Beautiful image. This image is an excellent example of great light. The light is somewhat diffuse, coming over your left shoulder at around 30 degrees. The wing position shows a superb example of negative phase angle, making the nice small shadows enhancing fine detail. Nice job.

Awesome pose and feather separation on the neck. Great wing detail too. I dont mind the shoreline.
