Should I get rid of the mayfly?

Nice light and perch Gail.
I would probably just zap the fly, it doesn't do much.
A Sharp and well exposed photo.
I think the pano is a bit tight.
Maybe a slightly less Horizontal with a bit more vertical.

Nice image Gail! I like the wing position, exposure and pano crop. I would get rid of the fly and crop some off the left side.
Nice one, Gail! Excellent sweet light and wing spread, like the eye contact and perch. Agree about removing the fly.
Lovely capture as is for me. but yes , swat the fly
(Edges of bird's left wing showing edge pixellation, especially primary flights)

Hi Richard,
Can you tell me what causes edge pixellation and how to prevent it?

Could be that pixellation is the wrong term for the effect I see, but its similar to what happens if you zoom in hard on an image
I have had a few probs with this myself..I was advised it is caused by image selection ie when selecting to denoise the bg one needs to adjust parameters like feather etc
hopefully someone can give us both a tip on this. So it seems to be closely associated with edge selection suggest you reselect the wing and then play around with refine edge parameters
Your image is lovely btw and I hope you didnt mind me commenting on this.

Nice light, great pose and perch, Gail. The fly should remain part of the picture IMO.
Swat the fly Gail, and for the rest, I wouldnt touch a thing. Lovely light and colours, and well timed to get the wingspread.
Thank you all. The fly will be zapped from final file!
Gail
Gail, I really like this image, nice pose, detail and light. You mentioned the fly, but what do you think about removing the small grass or twig to the left of the fly, below the green foliage directly below the bird? Just a thought while you are busy "zapping" Well done and thank you for posting it.
excellent pose light and great details. It looks familiar

Keep the Mayfly Gail! It gives the shot a little something extra. What I like most about this frame is the pano crop; it works really well with that perch. I could see brightening the bird a little. We just missed you at Lake Blue Cypress; I was with Jim and Arash the week before your workshop.
