    Default Sharpening settings in Smugmug?

I wonder if anyone have a recommendation for the sharpening setting within Smugmug's Pro accounts?

They use the Lancoz algoritm for downsizing and sharpening the original (large) images. It is possible to set the usual Strength, Radius, and Threshold parameters (as in USM) but then there is also the Sigma parameter. In the description of their default setting, they set Strength to 0.2 which is quite low for wildlife images. I have been experimenting quite a bit now and I don't seem to find a good setting for feather detail.

Anyone have refined these parameters for bird images?

    Cheers, Jens.

I use to have a Smugmug Pro account.

Truthfully, I never paid attention to any algorithms they might
use. I just resized my jpgs to the size they needed to be, added
a tad of unsharpen and uploaded. Everything looked fine.

I have to agree with Doug here. I don't do nothing out of the ordinary and leave those settings alone.

The settings do make a huge difference though. For example the Bullfinch I posted earlier today was even softer after uploading to Smugmug.

I guess it is a big difference between uploading web-ready images which don't need to be resized vs. full-size ones.

    Cheers, Jens.
