From last week at our town beach on Long Island's North Shore. The egrets use this raggy sumac tree to rest in until the tide has receeded to the point where they take off and start to feed. For about 1/2 hour last Tuesday there were birds both coming and going and I liked the varying poses of these three. The head angles could be a little more in our direction, but nothing I could do about that and I am curious as to whether you feel it is fatal to this image.
Neat! I too from the thumb thought it was a composite of the same bird. Yes, a better HA on the Snowy could have made this better, but this is certainly not an image killer. I almost wish there was a tiny bit more room at right with all the birds staring that way. Sweet light, good exposure.
Good DOF Grace, and the comp works just fine. Certainly does look like a composite, and its worked out well that all three have different postures. Man, I wish I lived near the sea.
Grace, terrific shot. Balanced comp. and nice variety of wing positions. The sizes of the subjects going from large to medium to small makes it very interesting.
