    Default Topi mum & newborn.

This little guy was just a few days old and mum's protective nature (not to mention the unfavourable light) didn't make it easy to get an open shot.

    C & C most welcome

Sorry Marc, detail isn't really there or composition for me, especially if you compare Dumay's last image which is almost on a par tech & kit wise. It looks like you are shooting down from a vehicle, I just wonder if you were a little further away you might have got a better POV. Perhaps a tighter crop, but it's the depth of detail for me that is I feel the issue.

Sorry to be so negative on this Marc.

Always cute to see young ones in the wild being sheltered by mom, Marc, makes for sweet moments. The harsh light really spoils it for me here...Steve has a good point on the detail depth as well.

Do you have any good shots of topi running?

Nice to see the young version of the species right next to what it'll turn into. Not the most helpful light but if mine I'd blur the FG grasses slight;y to take out some of the crispness and take a little off the right side (as viewed).

Cute little guy and no blue jeans yet. A nice record moment but the harsh light hurts the image. Good points by Steve and Peter about POV. Still a sweet moment and I don't think I've seen a shot of a young Topi before.

You did as well as you could have in brutal light. A crop from the left and the bottom (esp. the bottom) would work for me.

Mork-man, Who is that ruggedly handsome guy in your avatar?????
